[Solved] Lost Wifi and Ethernet connection

Post by ineuw »

A couple of days ago updated to Linux kernel 4.4.0-103-generic x86_64 and lost the internet access with both WiFi and Ethernet. I provided the details below of inxi, ifconfig and iwconfig. Can someone please help? I have no idea what to do.

josephkchavez, sorry for the delayed reply, but I was nowhere near a computer all day. My concern was that there was a chip failure, so I booted from the Mint live USB and the Ethernet worked, but not the wireless, but still couldn't get the Ethernet working on the hard drive installation. Since my home folder is on a separate partition, and have the installed software list, I reinstalled LM 18.3 fresh because the original was an upgrade of LM 18.1 and then, LM 18.2.

As for the Wireless, I reinstalled the Broadcom Corporation BCM4321 802.11a/b/g/n (rev 03) driver with the following command.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get --reinstall install bcmwl-kernel-source
Advisory: The 18.3 kernel of the installation is old and still haven't updated it yet, but will bypass the installation of kernel 4.4.0-103-generic x86_64 (64 bit gcc: 5.4.0)

I hope this helps.
