Can't change txpower in Linux Mint 18.3

Post by DrAndi »

I recently reinstalled Linux Mint, and of course by doing so I got the newest version.

Ever since I started to use Linux for gaming, I boosted my wifi adapter's (TP LINK TL-WN722N) txpower to about 27dBm if I recall correctly
-> This used to fix my instability issues.

Now unfortunately it seems as if it doesn't work anymore to do so, even without iwconfig reporting any error upon doing so....

I had a script that launched at startup which did the following:

Code: Select all

sudo iw reg set GY
sudo iwconfig wlxc4e98410729d txpower 27
sudo service network-manager stop
I always stop the network-manager because I use wicd, the stock network manager behaves strangely for gaming imo

Txpower remains unchanged, does anyone experience the same?
