USB WiFi Adapter Driver

Post by farmer » Sat Jan 20, 2018 9:41 pm

Brand new to Linux. Have Mint on an old HP Compaq, runs pretty good, but no WiFi in the PC. Bought a Asus AC1200 USB-AC53 Nano Adapter, but will not start. Did try to get driver off cd, but no luck. Looked all over the general net and here, but nothing specific. Very new here so need good details. Will it work at all? Or should I try something else? old the PC be too old?, (was a Windows XP).

"USB ID not yet observed in any mainline kernel"

However that page points to Driver rtl8822bu on Edimax EW-7822ULC. Perhaps you might try that driver.

In terminal

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install git linux-headers-generic
git clone
cd rtl8822bu
sudo make install
If no errors, reboot
