Edit: Had to migrate the System to Xubuntu out of hardware support reasons.

Hello,

I installed the recent Linux Mint on a notebook without ethernet connection possibility. Until now I don't find a possibility to make it appear to the system to get the other drivers to work.

I found in another forum a script to analyse the system for network problems and hope the attached Log gives you the needed informations.

where did you find the script? is the code in your response the script? id like to run it to see if I can get it to fix my Ethernet from freezing LM 18 Mate everytime I connect it.

Upgrade your kernel to the latest of the 4.13 series (should be a level 4 update). Reboot and test.

You don't have ethernet, which is wired. Can you use a USB wifi dongle?

I guess everything would be way easier if i buy one tomorrow instead of transfering everything with an external hdd from another system?

edit: no ethernet slot on the notebook

Some overlap with that script you gave, but this is easier for me:

a. Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

b. Do the same with the following four commands:

Too new for the 4.10.x kernel, probably.... Try the daily build of Xubuntu 18.04:

Note: unstable, experimental, under heavy development. But hopefully with the kernel you need.

I'm afraid not.... Dutch saying, translated into German: wenn's nicht geht wie es muss, dann muss es mal wie es geht.

Unless you buy a USB wifi dongle that does work out of the box in Mint 18.3. This one will probably do that:

An important indication will be, whether wifi works out of the box in Xubuntu 18.04.... Mint 19, due early this summer, will be built on Ubuntu 18.04.
