Try some of the ideas in this article from the Easy Linux Tips Project.

Incidentally, on my HP laptop, it was item 1.7 from there that got it working for me.

sudo dkms add ./rtl8723de
sudo dkms install rtl8723de/5.1.1.8_21285.20171026_COEX20170111-1414

I've already tried that, but it does not solve the problem.

Code: Select all

iwconfig
show's me

Code: Select all

lo no wireless extensions.

eno1 no wireless extensions.
is not there a problem?

i startet with another kernel (Kernel: 4.10.0-38-generic x86_64 ) and tried again

Code: Select all

sudo dkms install rtl8723de/5.1.1.8_21285.20171026_COEX20170111-1414
and now , after reboot, it work.
I don't know why, but it did.
Thanks a lot for your help!!!

How can I "submit" these settings to the newer / newest core?
I do not know how to say it correctly, but I would like to use linux mint with the latest kernel. Is there a way to transfer the current setup entries to the new kernel?

You could probably install the newest 4.13 kernel and see if it works but you might need another branch from github

You had some strange errors in the 4.4 kernel results and I am not sure what caused it unless you tried using backports

??
I do not know what that means. I tested a lot and maybe did something wrong

Unfortunately I'm not an expert - how can I fiend the right branch for the respective kernel?
