I have a friend I'm trying to help out. I loaded [clean install] onto his laptop. The only way I can keep his wireless connection made is by putting in static IP, Mask, and Gateway....
Any ideas on what I need to look at?
I figure the drivers are ok for it, since it see's wireless networks all around. All the updates are installed too.
TIA

Re: HP 2000 laptop
Please paste output of
here. When my laptop identified the wi fi network I just had to type in the wi fi password, ask system to remember it and it would be automatically connect to wi fi thereafter.
Code: Select all
inxi -Fxz

Re: HP 2000 laptop
Thanks Deep, I'll give that a whirl. Weird that it has to have a static IP in order to keep a connection though. That has me a bit confused, but I'll give it a try.
I'll post the results later this afternoon, when I get there.

Re: HP 2000 laptop
It seems to be working fine now. Not sure why. He took it home, it saw his wireless network, and it stayed attached...
Oh well...
Thanks
