No Wifi on HP Laptop 15-BS015DX with rtl8723be

Post by gsolomon »

I purchased same laptop in order to install Linux only machine. (Smouldering loathing of MS indescribable on respectable forum...)
My details are the same as submitted with exception of Realtek / I have rtl8723be / not "de" / hex B, not D in second to last char
I tried the procedure to see if it would work for same family of wireless. But no luck.

No ethernet available to me, at this time, but able to tether to Android (which works quite well.)
(Would really like to get wireless up, tho.

Have spent 4 times effort in just trying to troubleshoot wireless than it took for good install. So... quite frustrated.
I must say that instructions and general install quite well documented. Is that a Green Hat Trick??? Haha....

Hats Green or Red, but hats off Mint!

Any help much appreciated.
