Tried:
Upgraded to linux-firmware.169.3
Set wifi powersave off
Disabled IPv6 - no difference, enabled it back
I removed hw3.0/board-2.bin
Tried driver from here (looks like a Windows one or whatever): https://askubuntu.com/questions/607707/ ... stallation - no use.

I would appreciate any suggestion, except changing the OS:)

Long shot in the dark, but I just got my ASUS TP500L working on WiFi last week.

I will list the threads where the guys on this forum helped me.

Update:
Installed clean Ubuntu instead of Mint (4.13.0-32-generic #35~16.04.1-Ubuntu), faced the same issue with wireless as described above.
Noticed that the disconnects are not random (1 in 3 minutes) and depend on if any other computer is connected to wireless. Tested with my Fedora laptop and husband's Windows laptop. Thus made a conclusion that the the issue is a network one and can be fixed through router.
Followed the best practices here (though none of the PCs at home is a Dell):
https://www.dell.com/community/Networki ... -p/5190817
Particularly done this:
- Set channel to 11
- Disable 20/40Mhz Coexistence (set 20Mhz)
- Set WPA2-PSK for security
Writing this from my Ubuntu laptop, works like a charm. Maybe this helps someone with Mint as well.
