Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

I think
Bus 003 Device 004: ID 0bda:1a2b Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
is a storage device buildin with the wifi dongle, and you probably needs usb_modeswitch to switch it into wifi mode
I am using TP-Link TL-WDN5200 drverliess version which has a similar behaviour

Code: Select all

sudo usb_modeswitch -KW -v 0bda -p 1a2b
What does

Code: Select all

lsusb
print afterward?
