Hi,
I am sure that this question has already been ask, I have an old laptop, and recently have installed Linux Mint 18.3 Sylvia - Cinnamon (32 bit). The on-board Wi-Fi is not eve been detected or present under Network connections. I have read few post here and there to no avail, any help is much appreciated. This laptop had XP prior the installation of Mint, fully functional. I have also try an external WiFi via USB, no issues there.
Update 04/09/18:
I have been going at it for the few days, quite a bit of research which was awesome and very educational. The bottom line, I found the driver for my wireless card and how to install it on "Installing Broadcom Wireless Drivers" by Luis Alvarado - Ask Ubuntu.

Re: Gateway M320 onboard WiFi not working
Hello ortega52 and welcome to Linux Mint Forums,
Your card needs drivers. if you can hook up a Ethernet connect go to the driver manager found under Administration in the menu then install the recommended driver.
If you can not do a Ethernet connection you'll have to download the driver from another machine and install it manually.
I believe the correct driver for you machine is the firmware-b43-installer.
Good Luck.
