Tp-link TL-WN722n v3.0 not working

Post by JackB73 »

Hello,
So I bought a new TL-wl722n v3.0 and for some reason it does not work. I have an older one that works fine. I can download the driver from TP-Link's website but can't compile it. Any tips or thoughts?
Thanks,
Jack

With the new dongle plugged in, please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

b. Do the same with the following four commands:

Code: Select all

rfkill list all
and:

Code: Select all

iwconfig
and:

Code: Select all

inxi -Nn
and:

Code: Select all

lsusb

I have the V1.0 one plugged in now to connect to the internet. I believe it is the Bus 002 Device 004: ID 2357:010c that is the V3.0 that does not work

Try this:
Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 4.15 series.
Then reboot.
