Wifi suddenly stopped. Tried many things need help.

Post by Hygieia »

i was using Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.3 yesterday when for no reason Wifi disappeared.
No options availble in network settings or network connections to join up to wifi.
Tried many things on other site then cam across this one. just in case I had made things worse I reintalled Linux 17.3
Have tried to follow advice on this site site:

Code: Select all

linux@linux-System-Product-Name ~ $ iwconfig
eth0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 no wireless extensions.

lo no wireless extensions.

Code: Select all

rfkill list
Nothing

Code: Select all

linux@linux-System-Product-Name ~ $ inxi -nx
Network: Card: Realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller
           driver: r8169 v: 2.3LK-NAPI port: d800 bus-ID: 02:00.0
IF: eth0 state: down mac: bc:ae:c5:b8:86:d9
Im stuck and baffled and would love any help.
thx in advance

Hi kc1di,
I would recommend you not to go back, specially when you could forward and install Mint 19. You could get a better support on the problem you posted. :D
