Unable to connect Wifi after sleeping HP computer

Post by greatdane808 »

I have Linux 18.3 on my HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g119dx. Whenever I sleep/hibernate my computer, I am unable to connect to Wifi after my computer wakes up. I tried toggling the wifi button on and off, but it doesn't work. The only thing that gets the wifi working again is restarting my computer.

Next time try this command in a terminal see if it works.

Code: Select all

systemctl restart NetworkManager

The uppercase letters helped, but Network Manager still doesn't show any wifi availability. Luckily, WICD reconnects the wireless network, blithly ignoring the peeved state of Network Manager which shows the following message: Unavailable. 802.1x supplicant failed. This is better explained here: https://www.cisco.com/assets/sol/sb/WAP ... 93617.html

I just reinstalled linux mint and now my computer is set to never suspend, but only to hibernate. It's a workaround, but it works for me right now. Thanks!
