No wi-fi after upgrade to 19

After I upgraded from 18.3 to 19 my wi-fi doesn't work.

Though unsupported, kernel 4.17.1 worked for me for wi fi. 4.15.x didn't work for me.

 uname -r
will give the kernel you have booted to.

I wouldn't as I bet you would be in worse shape with wifi. In terminal do

While this installs, my system is also stuck in software rendering mode.

Reboot and disable Secure Boot in Bios/UEFI. You might want to start a thread about the software rendering mode

My laptop has the Broadcom wireless that your laptop has. To fix the no wi-fi issue, I did the following: 1) connected laptop to ethernet, 2) ran Driver Manager, 3) applied the bcm driver offered, 4) disconnected from ethernet, 5) re-started networking and voila wi-fi worked.

I hope this can sort your wi-fi issue.

Thats what I always do with a new live usb trial.

still no wifi.

how do you restart networking?
maybe i did that wrong?
