Best WiFi option for Linux Mint 19 desktop?

on my box for tplink it says specifications are subject to change without notice. not sure why they make it so hard or why chipset is not listed

if this is available this should work provided that they send you what's advertised in the picture . only after you receive the product can you confirm what version you have . i guess the only way to really be certain is contact the australian vendor maybe what they have is the version 1. ASK to look at the box by model it will say version number. mine says ver1.10

Someone on another forum confirmed they have one of these (v 1.0) it and it works perfectly.

The vendor has agreed I can cancel my incorrect order and I now have one of the above on the way !

Well the card arrived already. Plugged it in, powered up - system found the network on bootup (Linux Mint 19) I entered password - internet !!!! easy as pie !

After reviewing the suggestions of the Forum, I purchased a Panda Wireless Model: PAU09 and was able to connect to the internet. Its installation was easy and it was essentially plug and play. I had Panda's tech support on the line, but was able to install it myself. If I can do it, I expect most members will also be able to do it using their own knowledge. Again, thank all of you for the good suggestions.

THIS adapter works out of the box in live linux. no drivers to install (if you happen to get one that chipset is different you can send it back. i see many adapters throwing in a new batch with completely different hardware)

Yeah not to necro but you're 100% right. Someone told me to buy the TP-Link TL-WN722N V2, because it was no-hassle 100% compatible with Mint. It isn't. It remotely isn't. With hours of hacking around I got it 'stable', but don't buy that one. The TL-WN822N V3 isn't compatible either no matter what any tells you.
