Does anyone know of a usb wifi adapter that will work well "out of the box" with Mint 18.3 . Please post any known working types.
I have tried to use an old Belkin F5D7632-4 router as an adapter without success . unfortunately there is no spare slot on the motherboard of my machine for a wifi card, otherwise its a perfectly good PC

in general, the inbuilt WiFi card will start to fail on the Windows System firstly,
and then a little later on, on the Linux Dual_Boot System, as well.
at this point, using the inbuilt WiFi card gets very flaky,,
& so you start to browse the world of usb WiFi dongles.
personally, I've been using some old Netgear WG111v2 WiFi usb dongles,
but they are truly showing their age, now.
the TP-Link Brand often comes up, especially on the eBay market & more so than on Amazon,,
and the later versions do give far better speeds, these days, and are also often natively detected by an Linux System,
especially at boot-up. so the TL-WN721n works well, and the TL-WN722n has 4dBi detachable antenna, is even better.
these things are dirt cheap on eBay these days & are a quick replacement for those failed inbuilt WiFi cards.

the Panda PAU06 WiFi USB adapter is also detected by 18.3 and 19
in the odd chance it is not, Panda support has a Linux driver for it.
