[SOLVED] Wireless not working on Lenovo ideapad 330 w/ Mint 19 (Mate)

I cant find, or activate, the wifi network (Realtek RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe) on my new install of Mint 19 Mate. It works fine with windows 10, but I'd rather use Mint. The dual-boot install was smooth, and the touchpad works perfectly, but wifi is missing. I've tried running driver manager, but it exited with "no proprietary drivers are in use".

I followed the extensive thread and advice given to JVR, here: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=273099&p=1519671#p1519671 , downloading the driver from github, editing Makefile in nano, and then doing

sudo make install
sudo modprobe 8821ce

but it has not worked. When I get to the final stage, after running

sudo modprobe 8821ce

I get the error:
modprobe: ERROR: could not insert '8821ce': Required key not available

(I originally posted this as a reply to his post - but realised perhaps I should have started a new topic here, as this seems beyond a simple newbie request. Hope this is ok!)

I've also tried usb-booting with older kernel, Mint 18.3 (Mate), and found the same problem - no wifi present.

All of the steps shown in the successful solution for the OP seemed to work, up until the final stage, where I get the "required key not available" error, which has me stumped. Same version of Mint, same Wifi card, but different outcome. The only thing I can think is different is the rest of the hardware (Lenovo rather than HP), but not sure how that would make a difference? If the solution hadnt worked for the OP, I would be tempted to think that the driver for an 8821ce just didnt work with Mint, but I now have no idea where to go with this.

Hope this is the right place to be posting this... I'd be grateful for any advice.

Go into BIOS/UEFI settings and disable Secure Boot and that will fix the required key not available and allow the driver to be loaded

Thanks JeremyB! That worked perfectly. I dont understand how changing the BIOS settings impacted a driver install once the OS had booted, but it did... After disabling secure boot, and going through the previous steps (editing Makefile, doing
make
sudo make install
sudo modprobe 8821ce)

all is now working... (didnt even need to reboot, wifi just appeared).

u don't need to change anything, ideapad 330 there is no secure boot interface in BIOS,

Are you sure? A lot of computers made since around 2012 are UEFI and have the Secure Boot function,
