SOLVED! WiFi stopped working in Mint19 with X60 Laptop

Post by Helmut »

My Lenovo X60 has been running with Mint 19 Mate 32bit for two weeks. Immediately after upgrading from Mint 17 to 19, WiFi stopped working, but that was fixed, until today.

Now WiFi has stopped working again.

If I run:
rfkill list all
it answers:
0: phy0: Wireless Lan
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: yes

What is happening?

SOLVED!
Found this myself and by accident:
On the underside of the X60, where it meets the front that you look onto in normal mode when using it, and forward from the fingerprint sensor, there is a tiny little and almost invisible slider-switch that turns WiFi on or off!
If you don't know this frill of plastic is actually a switch, you could think its just part of the moulded case fully without any purpose.
