I'm not a Linux guru, but are you expecting wifi to work when you have ethernet plugged in as well? If so I'm not sure how to fix that... You do get good internet through enp2s0 (ethernet) correct?

I can't post to the forum without connecting to the internet, hence plugging in a cable.

Thanks for your input though.

hi ZapDog5,
Thank you for responding. I'm too new to linux and don't assume much of anything in life, (especially having seen funnier things happen:), so figured I'd ask... No insult intended~

Have you tried going into BIOS and resetting to defaults?

Re: Wireless LAN adapter hard blocked

No worries, redlined.

I've reset the BIOS, run the battery down to empty and tried that, all sorts of things but no luck. I've tried other linux distros to check and the problem is there in all of them.

Re: Wireless LAN adapter hard blocked

Post by JeremyB »

There is a video on youtube about putting a piece of electrical tape on one of the wifi cards contacts that will fix the hard block
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzAKcmlaH1M
Atheros cards should have the same pin locations, the only other way to fix is to remove the internal card and use a USB device
