Wifi Problem in Mint 19 XFCE How can I activate it?

Hi there, I explain for some help:
I have a Tecra Toshiba computer with centrino duo processor and Windows Vista for default. It works fine for basics (internet and facebook),so I decided to change linux 19 with xfce since I read that it had very good performance in computers with old features
Everything in the installation went well, except the wifi. I can not connect, searching the problem in this forum I did the following after i got wifi with my cell phone via usb:
1.- went to the driver administrator -- it says updating cache -- dowloading software for a few seconds ,then finish, and in the box appears nothing
2.-I already checked if my wifi card was installed with ifconfig and it appears. I updated the repositories with sudo apt-get update and then sudo apt-get upgrade
3.- opened a terminal and write sudo apt-get purge bcmwl-kernel-source then sudo apt install firmware-b43-installer . Reboot the computer, and the same result, no wifi.


nothing works ,what can i do to get wifi?
could i edit a new wifi connection? how would it be done?
