Is the realtek rtl8821ce WiFi card supported by Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon 3.8.8 and if not will it be supported on 19.1?
I can't get it to work.
I have an HP laptop Intel© Core™ i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz × 2 running LM 19 kernel 4.15.0-20-generic.
Thanks.

Searching on the forums for "rtl8821ce" shows users with the same issue. One was able to solve it with steps here:

Worth a try.
As for Linux Mint 19.1, seeing as an update to the hardware enablement stack isn't due till February 2019 on the package base it uses (Ubuntu 18.04), no I don't think it will work OOTB on Linux Mint 19.1 yet.

<SOLVED>Re: LM 19 Realtek WiFi card rtl8821ce
Thankyou very much. I have been very happy with 3 versions of Linux Mint. The last one 19 doesn't have go slow times in Libreoffice as 17.3 did. Extremely happy with it. I have been using it on an HP laptop for three months. When my wife's laptop screen fell to bits I tried to buy an identical HP to mine. It was very similar but with a new WiFi card, hence the problems. Now that it working its great as it supports 5 Ghz WiFi as well as 2.4.
Thanks.
Joe.
