Mint 19.1 wifi not working (Broadcom)

Post by Sonicimage » Thu Jun 20, 2019 4:25 am

Hello there,

I upgraded Linux Mint from 17.1 to 19.1, and wifi is not working now. I tried many commands/fixes suggested on the internet, but none of them worked.
It's an old Latitude D-620 laptop, it was still working fine so I decided to install Linux Mint on it to make use of this laptop. I managed to make wifi work at that time (on 17.1). But now with this new version I can't figure it out, haven't been working all day yesterday, scratching my head, trying many fixes, none of them seemed to work. It gives me pain, I start losing my hope and really frustrated, as I'm an IT person, good with Windows, but this Linux is new to me, and I'm stuck in here.
Please advise what I can try to make it work. I attached the screenshot of Driver manager.

Thanks for any help!

In terminal do

Code: Select all

sudo apt remove bcmwl-kernel-source && sudo apt install firmware-b43-installer
