Post by PulseManiac » Tue Jul 09, 2019 3:07 pm

I have just removed my Ubuntu in favor of Linux mint. However, I can no longer access the internet like I used to
The installation is not on a virtual machine
The computer is a dell inspiron 14 5000 2 in 1

From the given information I would suggest you to update the kernel from 4.15.0-20 (install version) to 4.15.0-54 (actual version). This could solve the problem. If not, please post the terminal output of

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
for a better help and support.

Can you turn it on with the Fn & Print scr keys? Also, if Secure Boot is on in Bios, turn it off.

I'm not sure how to install a kernel without internet connection, also Fn & PrnScr and disabling Secure Boot didn't work

Try this:

1. Plug in a temporary USB WiFi dongle and connect to the internet;

2. Update Manager - panel: View - Linux kernels
Install the latest kernel of the 5.0 series. Then reboot.

3. Remove the dongle and test.
