WiFi network authentication required popping up

Post by Youmna » Wed Jul 17, 2019 2:05 pm

I just installed Linux mint yesterday and can't connect with my wifi the "wifi network authentication required" keeps popping up and I'm sure the password is right what's wrong with that?
I don't even know if there is driver for the network or what I see the wireless icon and my wifi
I tried a lot of solutions here but nothing worked all I can see is failed and error
Should I install another version?

Hello Younma,

for a better of this wifi issue, there are needed more informations. Can you open a terminal (Ctrl-Alt-T) and write down the outputs of the following commands here:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz

Code: Select all

iwconfig

Code: Select all

lsusb

Code: Select all

lspci

The first thing I recommend is a kernel update to the version 4.15.0-54. You do that in the update manager > view > linux kernel. In help you find a short description of the how-to of kernel updates and what to be aware of. Such an kernel update can often solve things. It not, we can go in with wifi itself. I have forgotten one command to ask for:

Code: Select all

rfkill list all
