No special changes. I only want to know, if you are using the default or not.

Have you enabled the firewall (by default it is disabled)?

Do you use an older router/modem? (Maybe disabling the IPv6 can help, because all the prerequisites are actually fulfilled for a connection)

What frequencies is your router using (2,4 GHz, 5 GHz or both)?

Okay, let us recapitulate:

- the right driver is installed
- your wireless card is detected and works
- there are no blocks anymore
- you see your network

Have you again tried the commands and got no results?

Code: Select all

nmcli radio

Code: Select all

nmcli device wifi connect PeterKate1

Code: Select all

ping google.com -c3
If there are no results, than try the steps 1.3.1, 1.3.3 and 1.4 on this site (one after one, step forward if one has no effect):

And there are really no outputs and/or results from the commands?

That's fine. Let's test, if there is a reaction with one of the other recognized networks (a password query), so we can see, it the issue is related to your router:

Code: Select all

nmcli device wifi connect STUPEN

Okay, can you get access to your router's wifi with a mobile phone?

Then try to power off and on the router, wait until the networks can be seen and try to connect again.

What is the model of your router?

Have you rebooted your laptop after installing the wireless driver?

I'm sorry, but I have only one idea for the moment, if the new start of the router takes no effect:

Go to network settings, choose your PeterKate1 network, open its settings > security and manually choose the right security encryption WPA1 and type in your password (show password marked to see, if it is correct) and then apply.

I will have a look at the router's manual and think futher about the issue tomorrow. Maybe another user has an idea, too.

Okay, but I think we could have solved the problem. You could think about a dual-boot with Windows and Linux Mint. :)
