Solved: Mint can't find wifi driver on Inspiron 530

Post by w7fzy » Sun Aug 11, 2019 8:31 pm

I'll upload info below after reading a previous post...
I'd like to know how to find the correct wifi driver. Right now, I'm using ethernet.

I'm running the live version off a USB dongle made with unetbooten. Plan to set up a home linux server using an old Dell Inspiron 530 desktop with 4GB ram and x86 processor. Suggestions for server software would be appreciated, too. But I'd imaging that's for a different part of this forum.

Here's the info on the broadcom chipset and how to install from help.ubuntu

b43 driver (Open-source)
For Chip ID BCM 4306 (rev 03), 4311, 4312, >>4318<<, 4322, 4331, 43224 and 43225.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiD ... er/bcm43xx

I'll assume that driver was loaded onto my USB drive as I'm using it for preview purposes. We'll see what happens after a restart/reload.
