AFter upgrading to 19.2 from 19.1 my WiFi adapter (AC6100) won't come up. The rtl8812au-dkms package is installed
$ sudo dkms status
nvidia, 390.116, 4.15.0-54-generic, x86_64: installed
nvidia, 390.116, 4.15.0-55-generic, x86_64: installed
nvidia, 390.116, 4.15.0-58-generic, x86_64: installed
rtl8812au, 4.3.8.12175.20140902+dfsg, 4.15.0-55-generic, x86_64: installed
rtl8812au, 4.3.8.12175.20140902+dfsg, 4.15.0-58-generic, x86_64: installed

The wireless-info.txt output is attached. lsusb shows the adpater but it won't come up after a reboot.

Thanks

David

Rtl8812au-dkms has a broken dkms.conf, I would uninstall and see https://askubuntu.com/a/1149288/300665

Try

Code: Select all

sudo modprobe -v 8812au
It will likely post an error about exec format

Thanks Jeremy
that did the trick.

Have the LM packagers ever approached you to fix their broken package?

It is not a package from Mint, its source is Ubuntu and I have made comments on bug reports, even including the needed fix to rtl8812au-dkms dkms.conf file and have been ignored
