linux-firmware update causes bluetooth problem

Post by ZN0N »

After a fresh install of Linux Mint 19.3 (XFCE) everything was working fine including wireless wifi and bluetooth. After an update, my bluetooth suddenly stopped working. It wont turn on, cant scan any devices nor can it connect to anything, but my wifi works fine. So I had to do a bit of troubleshooting and I found out that a linux-firmware update was causing the problem. It was an update of linux-firmware 1.173.14. Is there any chance of downgrading the linux-firmware to a later version or is there any other fix for this? The wireless hardware Im using is RTL8723DE. Please help

Thanks in advanced

This might be easier to downgrade linux-firmware:
Synaptic package manager > package > force version

Return to “Wireless”
