Hi. Please assist.
I've just installed Mint on my mother's old laptop since Windows was too slow. Now everything appears to be working and updates are done, but internet was only accessible when the internet modem was plugged in directly, however, my mother will need to connect to wifi and Mint will not pick up any wifi signals.
I've searched and found other people have had similar issues with Mint but when they receive it helps it seems to be for their pc's particular issues discovered via the terminal commands. I am presently troubleshooting the issue myself but I thought it'd be faster to ask for help.

If you need a temporary internet connection, use phone tethering:
