Did you reboot between the switch?


Like, change from lz4 to gzip, and reboot. Then switch back from gzip to lz4, and reboot.


To see which initramfs compression is currently set ...

echo -e "\nCurrent "`grep COMPRESS= /etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf`"\n"
... will display either Current COMPRESS=lz4, or Current COMPRESS=gzip. This command doesn't change anything.



Yes i reboot between the switch. Now the compression is:

Code: Select all

Current COMPRESS=gzip
and it works fine...
