No Wifi in Linux Mint After it Had Been Working - Why? How Can I Fix It?

Post by Victor92 »

Hi,
My Wifi stopped working but it had previously been working just fine. I've been using Linux Mint for over a week with no Wifi issues so I don't understand why this would happen now. I reinstall the linux work's fine and today the same, i don't have wifi. I see the problem in another topic, i tried the solution from there, but nothing, by the way i am new on linux.

Thank you,

Numerous subsystems can underperform or falter when the kernel doesn't speak new Ryzen. The solution is kernel 5.8, which has recent AMD-specific enhancements and bug fixes. It's more than just the Ryzen APU, there's an accompanying suite of AMD I/O chipsets. Kernel 5.8 immediately resolved several issues on my Ryzen 7 laptop.

Kernel upgrade: Launch Update Manager, there click View > Linux Kernels > [Continue]. Then select 5.8 and install the top version listed. Reboot.

Once your AMD chipset is happy, remaining issues can be easier to pinpoint and resolve.

So, the wifi worked before you upgraded to the 5.8 kernel?
