help on choosing which wireless (usb?) for use on a desktop

if i were to buy a wireless card (or usb) which is suggested? (that will work seamlessly with Mint, and how much will it cost?) ~$40?

I suggest to consult one of the many hardware compatibility lists, e.g. this one: http://www.linux-drivers.org/ ... Here you will find links to many other lists, so your mileage may vary, but it's better to spend a little time and then buy compatible hardware than to buy incompatible hardware and then waste a lot of time trying to make it work somehow. HP seems to sponsor a project about Linux and WLAN: http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/ ... maybe there is some useful info there as well.

I've had no problems connecting with my Airlink AWLL3026 usb adapter that a bought for $20 at frys on sale. No windows drivers needed.
