AR9285 wep key error

I am having a problem with it accepting a wep key. I get to work on my hidden wep at home fine using a 128bit hex key. A different network I got to use had a 10 digit key on a visable wep network. I know I am using the right my android phone has the same one on it and I tested it the phone connects no problem. I enter in key in and have the BSSID input but it comes back as a bad password there are no spaces or anything in it. Whats causing this to fail?

Really need to find out why this is happening i tried different drivers no go.
