Hardware recommendations?

Post by ecd » Sun Dec 31, 2006 8:00 am

I'm led to believe Linux should be able to run on most systems. Is it possible that the creators of Mint could give their recommendations for hardware used to get the OS up and running as they see fit?

You are SO close to having a wonderful Operating System that covers everything (I use it for anyway) 'out-of-the-box'. My downfall is the wireless side of it. But I'm working on it...think I need an aerial extension/booster.

I'm basically wondering if Mint could supply a list of recommended hardware; a bit like that world famous $oftware company does?

Regards,
Pete :)

PS: Apologies if there is a posting somewhere actually showing this!

As far as hardware recognition is concerned, it's pretty much the same as Ubuntu Edgy (see Ubuntu's website) plus additional support by mintWifi in Bea for some wifi cards: http://linuxmint.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=286
