My wireless Drivers is not working..

Post by shekkieface » Tue May 17, 2011 5:43 am

My Laptop is a Acer WLMi5004. The only way I can make the internet work is to connect it with an ethernet cable to install updates. On linux mint 9 my orange light used to light up, but now using Linux Mint 11 the light doesn't even show up. How do I make my wireless drivers work? I installed the CD version of Linux Mint 11.

Acer and Dell owners are currently the worst hit by the drivers mess up with Ubuntu 11.04

Here's a whole lot of reading for you:

Identify your card and then use the fix supplied. Be aware I have broadcom 4311 wifi card and I have had to ensure no STA installed and instead install B43 drivers to make Mint 11RC work. The reverse of what Ubuntu 11.04 users had to do. There are revisions of cards too that could be causing this confusing situation.
