Vostro V130/Atheros AR9285 in Mint 12 issue [SOLVED]

Post by edtheuniquegeek » Thu Feb 16, 2012 2:16 pm

I just loaded Mint 12 with Cinnamon and am having issues with wireless. I've done some troubleshooting and it seems to have issues with security. It will work but I experience extremely slow performance with WPA2. Wireless works just fine under an unsecure access point.
Anyone else experienced this and know of a fix?

Here is what I have:

Code: Select all

ed@ed-Vostro-Mint12 ~ $ sudo /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintWifi/mintWifi.py

I'll try this, thanks. But something interesting is I had no issues at all with Mint 11.

My mother's laptop with AR9281 also had slow wifi in Mint 10. So the Atheros slow wifi, a common issue, is definitely not just a Mint 12 issue. There are also some reports of slow wifi on Mint 11, however, and many people having no problems at all with Mint 12.

And did it work? In that case please edit the title (by editing the first post) and add [solved].
