Network Manager broken, cant connect to wifi

Post by james.ubc »

hi, i just install lm 12 and did a few updates and skinning the shell etc.
however the network button under gnome shell's pannel shows up like this:

Networking is disabled
Enable networking
---
Network settings

clicking on enable networking does noting, clickingo network settings gives the error:
"The system network services are not compatible with this version."
under system settings>network

airplane mode is listed as on but clicking it does nothing (it reverts to being on the next time it's launched)
rfkill list shows all ports as being unblocked and i can use the ethernet port for whatever reason

also, maybe related issue, the package manager says libc6 and libc6-dev are broken and i cant see to be able to fix it in any of the normal ways...

any ideas?
