Themes on KDE? [Solved]

I'm sorry for asking this question here but it seems the best place.

I am actually using LM 11 (Katya) and have the feeling that 'bits are falling off' (problems starting and shutting down, giving the dreaded 'checking battery state' message). Apparently this has nothing to do with a battery's state (this is a mains powered PC anyway) but there is virtually no info anywhere about how to cure it. I'm therefore waiting for LM 13 and, in the meantime, am looking for a reliable program as I am an Internet moderator elsewhere.

KDE sounds like that reliable program but can anyone tell me how themeable it is? In particular, can the blue be replaced by a dark theme (shades of brown type of thing)? Any help or comment will be appreciated.

Many thanks

Yes - many thanks, I will now take a serious look at KDE. I have to say that when I booted up the latest version on a Live DVD, I felt blinded by what I suppose are the 'plasma' effects. This time, I'll try to reduce the screen brightness setting first.

Thanks again
