Sound on Linux Mint 13

Hello all.

I've installed Maya and I can't get the sound to work, nor in VLC neither Amarok. I wonder if anyone had this problem too and how has been solved. My audio card is:
01:00.1 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV710/730 HDMI Audio [Radeon HD 4000 series]

Thank you but unfortunately it didn't worked that way :( Maybe I'm lacking a package or something similar but I'm not able to find which one is. Is there any way to confirm?
