Hi all,
I do not know if this is a bug or not but this is happening. When I leave the computer, the screen dims down. Now yesterday I had to go for shopping which is more than 40 min, so after 30 minutes the screen goes from 100% to 50% and so on.
So I came back and wanted to reactivate the screen but I wasn't able to. All indications were that the energy saving kicked in and that the system was working. So no stand-by or hibernation. I touch the mouse and keyboard but no reaction to it. I had to reset the computer to getting it responsive.
I checked everything including the monitor which was on.
Can someone help me with this please?

How did you "touch the keyboard"?
Usually, pressing ESC tells the system to exit screensaver/display standby.

Re: Mint KDE 17.3 won't reactivate
I hit my keyboard with the enter button or space bar. Normally it would come out of stand-by/hibernation... IF that were the case...
I will try again but this time with your suggestion. However I think I did this already...

I did test it and when I'm not logged in it happens again and if I leave for too long then it will happen again.
I do not know about Mint KDE sleep function but I have Mint KDE installed on a ssd drive.

My Mint KDE also goes to sleep at times but a simple touch on the spacebar or mouse click wakes it up fine,
