Hi. I've installed the KDE edition of Linux Mint 18 in a laptop Asus X455L.
The system runs fine, really smooth and better. Plasma 5 is awesome, I like how the development team keep the original look of KDE Plasma. But I got some minor issues and problems with the system that I would like to fix:
- No root actions in context menu of Dolphin (there is only one for opening a whole folder, but not a single file).
- No "Send file to device with KDEConnect" in context menu of Dolphin.
- No thumbnails for pictures and videos files in Dolphin.
- How to change the SDDM clock from 12 hours to 24 hours? (solved)
- The brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 doesn't work.
- The touchpad stops working after suspending the computer.
- Hibernating doesn't work propperly, it shutdowns the computer, but the system doesn't start completely after turning on again.
Is there a way to fix this minor problems? Everything else works fine, but these small things makes the system more versatile.

Re: Minor issues with LM18 KDE
I think can help you out with a couple of those:
-For the login clock, I wanted the same thing on mine. I was able to find this how-to from Kubuntu via Google here. I know this works for the lock screen login, however I'm not sure if this affects SDDM also...
-To get the preview thumbnails in Dolphin, go into Settings, scroll down to General and check the boxes you want there to be thumbnails for. Unfortunately, I didn't see an option for video thumbnails, but it looks like petty much all image formats are supported...
I hope that helps you out somewhat.

Ok, I did it for the lock screen login. But also I got the way to do the same with the SDDM theme:MMcD488 wrote:I think can help you out with a couple of those:

Go to the folder
Code: Select all
/usr/share/sddm/themes/breeze/components
I have checked all the boxes for the thumbnails and I still don't see any one.MMcD488 wrote: -To get the preview thumbnails in Dolphin, go into Settings, scroll down to General and check the boxes you want there to be thumbnails for.
