Linux Mint 18.1 KDE shut down/reboot problem
Frequently when selecting either the "Shut Down" or "Reboot" icon the computer neither shuts down nor reboots, instead I end up with the following message on the screen: "Linus Mint 18.1 Serena, [computer name] tty1, [computer name] login:" and keyboard input is disabled. I have to shut off the computer with the manual power switch. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can confirm this is a (very) intermittent issue for me.saordubh wrote:Frequently when selecting either the "Shut Down" or "Reboot" icon the computer neither shuts down nor reboots, instead I end up with the following message on the screen: "Linus Mint 18.1 Serena, [computer name] tty1, [computer name] login:" and keyboard input is disabled. I can usually get it to reboot with cntrl+alt+prntscrn+b though.
