No Close/Max/Min buttons. Can't Switch/Close Windows

Hello,
I am having a problem where the windows don't have any Min/Max/Close buttons and I can't switch between windows. Alt Tab doesn't work nor Alt F4 for switching or closing windows. If the application had a File tab > close, I can use it to close windows. Or I can also use system monitor to close applications. It happened after an update. Also tried installing qt5multimedia module from the software center then uninstalled it. I have tried Settings > Startup and Shutdown > Desktop Sessions > On Login "Start with an empty session" but it didn't help.

If I go into System Settings > Desktop Behavior > Desktop Effects, it says "This shared library was not found" and
"Possible Reasons:
*An error occurred during your last KDE upgrade leaving an orphaned control module
*You have old third-party module lying around
Check these points carefully and try to remove the module mentioned in the error message. If this fails consider contacting your distributor or packager.

I am using Mint KDE 18.2 64bit
And GTX 960m in case that could be a problem.

Hi "Toby Lemons",

Sounds like you had a major problem during a major update.

Can you bring up a console terminal prompt? If you can, try these commands below and restart:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg --configure -a

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install -f  

Code: Select all

sudo apt update

Those buttons are part of "Windows Decorations" under System Settings -> Application Style -> Windows Decorations, so you can try choosing another decoration too.
