Video Issues after updating

Post by Simon7aus »

I have not had decent internet for awhile, until yesterday. Last night I run the Update option for Linux Mint 18. Today, every time I scroll the screen (mouse or arrow keys), the display flashes and flickers several times. Switching between different open programs produces the same affect. I did not have this issue prior to the update.

Below is my system specs to help with finding a fix for this.

Linux Mint 18.1
KDE Plasma 5.8.7
KDE Framework 5.36.0
QT 5.6.1
Kernel 4.4.0.53-generic
OS Type 64-bit

Intel twin-core CPU @ 3GHz
4GB RAM

X-Server Ver 11.0
1024 x 768 @ 96DPI

Open-GL 3.0 Mesa 11.2.0
Direct Rendering Npuveau Gallium 0.4 on NVD9

Please let me know if you need any other info on the system.

Open to thoughts and suggestions on this.

Thank you
