Lost display settings

Post by Amideus »

Greetings all,

I have a 4 monitor setup, I am currently running Nvidia 384.90 driver on my system and I have the monitors how I like. Only issue is that when I lock my system for more than 5 min I get the KDE sysmbol for a minute then all of my monitors are overlapping and completely out of order, as well as any active windows I had are now closed and I have to re open all the programs.

Is this a known issue of KDE? I will say I am new to KDE since I usually use Cinnamon but I really liked the Organizer that came with KDE but I need to figure out this monitor issue :/

Hi "Amideus",

It would help to know more about your system setup, Ie: is this Linux Mint KDE 18.2 or 17.3, etc... If you run "inxi -Fxzd" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

I would recommend that you do no use the "locking" until you find out more. Is this "locking" from the Power Manager, or from the Screen Saver? There are other screen saver applications with locking you can install, if need be. There might be settings that could make it work properly.

I personally cannot test this because I do not have multiple monitor screens, or an Nvidia card.

You can also review the KDE Plasma bug website to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issues, or report a new issue. You will have to create a free account for yourself before posting anything new or commenting on any existing posts or replies.

Hope this helps ...
