Clipboard (Klipper)

Post by MicroM »

Hi.

Very simply, can someone advise me of a method of disabling this in 18.3?

Thanks.

Hi MicroM,

It would help to know more about your system setup. If you run "inxi -Fxzd" and "lsusb" from the console terminal prompt, highlight the results, copy and paste them back here, that should provide enough information.

If you are using Linux Mint KDE 18.3 rigtht-click the system tray icon and select preferences and also check the startup apps and remove it from there. I really like Klipper.

Hope this helps ...

Thanks for your reply.

The Clipboard (Klipper) configuration has no option to disable. From what I've seen from researching this is that Plasma 5.5 did. I'm on 5.8.9

There is also no listing for this program in Startup & Shutdown in System Settings.

In your signature you have listed KDE 18.3. Do you have this option?

Hi MicroM,

You are welcome...

apt - Remove Klipper from Kubuntu - Ask Ubuntu
https://askubuntu.com/questions/1032985 ... tu/1032997
"Klipper" is part of the plasma-workspace package and cannot be uninstalled without removing all of KDE.

It can be disabled by going to System Tray settings > General > Extra Items. Uncheck "Clipboard".
I am currently in Cinnamon 19 to help out other Linux Mint member posts, so I cannot test this at the moment.

Hope this helps ...

Bingo, phd21 :D

I hadn't realized that the system tray settings was only accessible from the taskbar tray arrow icon.

Problem solved and thank you.
