Install desktop from recovery

Post by rdonnelly »

Is there any way to install the KDE desktop from recovery? I am on mint 18.2, I got a screensaver error, when I uninstalled screensaver, it uninstalled the entire KDE environment.

Thanks

I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately, but I would suggest that you backup your treasured stuff then take a break to consider a clean install.

Thanks for the reply, from the recovery I got errors like, try --fix-missing and auto update. Neither of them worked, luckily I had /home on a separate partition and a fresh install and update was pretty painless. I only really use the notebook once a year for an insurance audit, and I only have Virtualbox installed, and just move my data file to the notebook just for that purpose.
