Network Problem

Mint KDE 7

Mint can see other computers on my net work,but not it self.
Other computers can not see Mint
I have a install of Kubuntu 9.04 which works ok.Is there a setting I need to change or make to be able to fix this ?

This is just a guess but does your machine have a name?

Open Terminal ( I guess that's konsole to you - Sorry I no longer use KDE )
Type hostname

If it comes back with localhost or is blank then you will need to give your machine a name.
