KDE icons in the sys tray

Post by colyn »

Can the icons in the system tray be changed or are we stuck with them?

Thanks for the info. However the icons I want to change are the clipboard, devices, and speaker icons.

I am using the Faenza icon theme but it does not change those two icons like it did in 4.5.x

those icons are system ones and that is why they are white and plain/flat or visa versa.
Or so stay the KDE gods.

I guess that means we are stuck with them till KDE changes them..

They used to change when adding new icon themes but with 4.6.x they no longer change..

I believe the Plasma Devs made a conscientious decision to make system icons standardized and un-changeable. There are no plans to change them back. Individual app icons, however, can be whatever you want them to be. This was to gain a level of consistency similar to other OS's.
