Mint Ver. 12 KDE. Here's another tid-bit that might save someone some time. Upon installation of my 32 bit KDE version, the Libreoffice icon tool-tips were solid black. I found there is apparently a bug that causes this but there is also an easy work around.
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/881740
In KDE go to System Settings > Application Appearance > Colors > Colors > Tool Tip Background
I set mine to white which cured the problem short term but when I go back to tool tips the color is changed from white to some other color. Hopefully this bug will be fixed sooner rather than later.
Thanks

Libre0ffice - Tooltips Problem - Solved
I'm on Mint 12 KDE & I'm very happy with it.
One small issue:
In Libreoffice, the tool tips in the toolbars are not visible when the mouse cursor is hovered over the tool icons because both the background & the font color are dark.
How to modify this behaviour?
Thanks.

Oh, err...
I saw another post on the same subject right above me & the solution suggested there worked for me.
I changed the colors of the background & the fonts to white & black respectively. They stayed the same even after reboot.
So, the problem is solved.
